Barka, the Polish English Choir

Here is a bilingual version of Bądz Pozdrowiony Gościu Nasz (Come and be welcome here our friend), a simple song very popular in Poland and sung to welcome Pope John Paul II when he visited his motherland. In our parish we have sung it in Advent as a gathering song at Mass. For our community, we welcome our Polish immigrant friends, we welcome Jesus at Christmas into the stable at Bethlehem and into our hearts and into our community at Mass in the form of bread and wine. Click here to hear a bilingual recording and see the Polish and English texts and musical notation.

Here is an English/Polish bilingual mass setting I have composed for use in English speaking parishes and schools with a Polish community.

(If you would like to buy the score of this with full keyboard part and chords, please get in touch.)

Click on the titles to listen to them and read the words and melody:

Kyrie (Lord have mercy / Panie zmiłuj się nad nami)

Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy / święty, święty, święty)

Memorial Acclamation (Christ has died / Chrystus umarł)

Amen

Agnus Dei (Lamb of God / Baranku Boży)

Here are some useful links for Polish Catholic music:

Arka Noego (Polish language website of the wonderful children's pop group from Poland, whose name means "Noah's Ark")

Santo Subito (lively song by Arka Noego, praying for the canonisation of Pope John Paul II)
