Daniel Bath, a graduate in music from Cambridge University and now living in Todmorden, West Yorks., is a professional musician who works with people and communities of all sorts of ages, interests and musical abilities. His speciality is getting people to sing with confidence and musical expression by discovering the potential of their own voices and the basics of good vocal technique. He is a strong believer that everyone can sing if they know how!

He has a deep love for the liturgy of the Church, developed through experiences with many traditions - including singing in several Gregorian Chant choirs and with Eastern Orthodox and Armenian church choirs. He also works in the fields of Jazz, Pop and Gospel music and is currently learning Indian classical singing and devotional music. His interest in African and other music from around the world has led to his work with Prof. Bill Tamblyn on BBC radio 4's Daily Service.

As well as being musical director of Actors' Workshop Youth Theatre, Halifax Chamber Choir and Todmorden Choral Society, he is the founder and director of West Calderdale Music Centre Choir, Calderdale Youth Choir and The Voice Crews of Ravenscliffe Secondary Special School, Halifax. He also sings in and sometimes conducts Salford Cathedral Choir.

He is an experienced teacher of music to adults and children of all ages in school classes, small groups and one-to-one and runs singing and composing workshops in schools and other community settings, including staff training for Calderdale Music Service.

As well as songs, opera and theatre music, Daniel has composed lots of music for the liturgy, including mass settings, psalms, hymns and choral works, some of which is published by The Society of St. Gregory and Decani Music. In his own parish of St. Joseph's, Todmorden, he leads children's liturgy and often composes and leads music for family Mass.
